Scoring
Match
/
team play with handicaps
(5) points per hole
(1) point vs each opponent per golfer (4 possible
pts)
(1) point for team score
bonus:
+(5)
possible
+ (2) pts each if you tie or beat your ind handicap
+ (1) pts if team ties or beats handicap
*all
scorecards will be marked each week with handicaps and stroke
Holes
noted
for each golfer (for you morons that still don’t know how to keep score!!)
*2006
rules
change for double par – if you pick up and take
Double
par
on a hole, you cannot win any points for the hole.
Handicaps
Handicaps
will be adjusted weekly and establshised by best (10) out of (15) scores, going
back to last year. There is a handicap page on the league website to track your
scores/handis.
Playoff
handicaps will be determined by the lower handi of the 2 halves (to prevent
sandbagging)
Subs
If
you need
a sub, you are responsible for getting one. There is a large list of subs on the
players page on the website.
Please
choose a sub off our league list or at least get someone with an established
handicap. Subs cannot win bonus points nor can you get a team bonus if you have
a sub playing. No subs rule in full effect for playoffs!!
· ghost sub
If
you
cannot find a sub and must play alone, we will once again be using the “ghost”
scorecard to score the match. The “ghost” scorecard that is picked cannot be
your group’s card and cannot accumulate any bonus points for the match.
However,
“ghost” scores can only account for 75% of the scored points. For example if
you and the “ghost” took 30 pts, you would only be able to win 22.5 pts. It is
in your best interest to find a sub vs. Using the ghost.
Team
no
shows
If
neither
player shows up, the team that shows will receive 25 pts. They can also
accumulate another 10 pts if they hit or tie their handicaps. (5 pts per
person)
Rules
· usga rules, with league modifications
as stated below.
· lost ball is (1) stroke penalty
in the vicinity where it was lost. In
playoffs, lost ball is stroke and distance and all Usga rules are in effect.
· #12 lateral hazard off tee:
please drop in the drop zone by the red tees
(across hazard) or line of flight if ball hooks into the hazard after intital
clearance.
· winter rules as always. Move
em’ only in the fairway. Lift, clean, and
place depending on the weather.
· out of bounds is stroke and
distance as always.
· lateral hazards (red stakes)
are (1) stroke penalty. Drop line of flight
as far back as you want, but no closer to the hole.
· railroad tie posts on some
holes define a lateral hazard. If the ball is
in the hazard, a (1) stroke penalty is incurred if the posts are in your way
and you cannot swing clearly.(you
Can
always
try and hit out of a hazard) if you are outside the hazard and the post impedes
your swing, you get a free drop (2) club lengths or until the post is not
interfering.
Please
talk
with your opponents to determine this ruling as a group.
· fences lining course are o.b.
As marked on the scorecards. No free drops
if the fence interferes with your swing.
· #4 o.b. Marker is anything
right of the cartpath for those that want to
try and cut the corner on #3.
· all scorecards are final once
turned in (aka, the jackie Recount rule).
It is your responsibility to make sure scorecards are marked accurately and
bonus pts are added, not the responsibility of the league!
· brewsters and the brewsters
league president are not responsible for any
damages caused to houses from errant shots.
It’s
up to
you to call your opponent out for a rules infraction or warn them. If you are
in doubt about a ruling, play a provisional ball and bring it to our attention
afterwards.
